PROVINCIAL TAXES

Residents of Laurier will pay a Provincial Tax Levy which includes:

1. Provincial Land Tax

2. Education Tax

3. Local Roads Board

4. Local Services Board

 

The amount of the tax levy will be based on the assessed value of your property. Laurier does not set the value of your assessment.  If you have questions about the assessment of your property, contact the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) by calling 1-866-296-6722.  Laurier residents will pay a minimum value of $150.00 per property.

The Ministry of Finances: Thunder Bay - Provincial Taxes will distribute tax bills twice per year which involve a total of four installments/due dates.  The interim tax bills are usually mailed in March each year and normally have due dates early in April and May. The interim tax bill is billed at 50% of the previous year's levy.  The final tax bills are usually mailed in July and normally have installment due dates early in August and September.  The final tax bill is determined by the current year's tax rate less the interim billing. Interest is charged monthly at a rate of 1.25%.
